Navigating the digital media landscape
A journey into entrepreneurship
A passion for music and public speaking, nurtured since childhood, is a driving force behind her success.
Prime-Rose Harases, a young entrepreneur and recent graduate from the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) with a degree in media, is making waves in the digital media industry.
Born and raised in Windhoek, Namibia, Harases has always been driven by a passion for music and public speaking, which she has pursued since childhood.
Harases’s journey into entrepreneurship began with a desire to be her own boss.
Her journey in media was sparked by a realisation of unaddressed gaps, which inspired her to establish Risen Rose Records (RRR) Studios, offering a range of creative services at affordable prices.
Background
At just 20 years old, Harases stands out as one of the youngest entrepreneurs in Namibia.
“My journey into entrepreneurship and the media industry has been one of passion, determination, and continuous learning. I'm committed to making a positive impact in my community and beyond through my work in media,” says Harases.
Her passion for music and public speaking, nurtured since childhood, has been the driving force behind her success.
Despite her busy schedule, she finds time to give back to her community.
She has also hosted both the preliminary and final shows for Miss Teen Namibia 2023, showcasing her talent and commitment to empowering young individuals.
During her high school years, Harases was actively involved in the HIV/Aids awareness club and served as a peer mediator, demonstrating her dedication to social causes. “I believe that you are only as limited as your mindset.”
“My journey into music began with uploading singing covers to social media, which eventually led me to create my own music."
She is currently managed by her mother, and she embraces the support and guidance of her family. Her journey serves as an inspiration to aspiring entrepreneurs and musicians, highlighting the importance of passion, perseverance, and a positive mindset in achieving one's dreams.
Service orientated
Harases’s founded Risen Rose Records Studios in January 2024, offering services such as music production, graphic design, videography, photography, marketing, training and consultancy. As the sole owner and founder of the company, she works hard and is dedicated.
“Our goal is to provide a holistic platform where artists, businesses and creatives alike can access top-notch services at prices that fit within their budgets.”
Harases faces challenges typical of young entrepreneurs, including feeling overwhelmed at times. “Being a CEO comes with a myriad of responsibilities and tasks, which can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when balancing various aspects of the business."
Her challenges also include being overlooked in a male-dominated industry, dealing with limited resources, facing competition, and balancing work and personal life.
To overcome these challenges, she prioritises tasks that build confidence, seeks alternative funding sources, differentiates her services and sets boundaries. She sees AI playing a crucial role in the future of Risen Rose Records Studios, enhancing capabilities and offerings. Harases embodies the spirit of innovation, creativity and empowerment.
“My proudest moment as a CEO at Risen Rose Records Studios has been witnessing the growth and impact of my team. Seeing the faces of the individuals I have employed and knowing that I have contributed to bettering their livelihoods fills me with immense pride.”.
Her advice to other entrepreneurs is to identify key problems and find innovative solutions.
For aspiring musicians, she advises surrounding oneself with a supportive network and embracing uniqueness. “The quote I live by and that motivates me is our RRR Studios slogan: Dream. Create. Amplify."
