Providing Namibia with premium security services
Homestar Security is a national security provider trailblazer
Windhoek-based security company, Homestar Security, works non-stop to provide premium security services to those in need nationwide. The company was established in Namibia in 2003 and has become one of the most prominent names in Namibian safety and security for the past 19 years.
It provides holistic security services, including armed response and guarding, alarm and CCTV installations, as well as monitoring.
The premium security provider is known for its excellence in security response.
"As a major player in the fight against crime, we at Homestar Security Services pride ourselves on providing premium services, executed at the highest levels. In order to prompt customer loyalty, we at Homestar Security strive to create a long-term client experience in all aspects of our operations. We take to heart the security needs of our clients to provide reliable and effective security solutions," said the company’s general manager, Marizelle Jacobs, in an interview with Careers.
Holistic approach
The company employs approximately 95 people. It applies a structured approach to create a working environment that supports all-round employee development.
Homestar emphasises a culture of respect and appreciation in its workplace.
Helmuth Gowaseb, an armed response security officer who had resigned but returned to work at Homestar in 2019, said: "I found and still do find the company culture most intriguing. I left the company previously but returned as a result of the respectful and inclusive culture at the company."
In addition, control room supervisor Sheron Jantjies, who has worked at Homestar for seven years, said: "We at Homestar are a family with our customers’ satisfaction being our first priority. I have been at Homestar for seven years and in that time I have gained much more experience in administration work as well as customer service and a load of leadership skills that I can apply cross-industry."
Innovative
The company has operated for more than 18 years, and has gained a reputation as one of Namibia’s security and safety powerhouses. They hope to grow even bigger.
“Over the next ten years, with our innovative ideas, we look forward to continuing designing custom systems for our clients. We are continuously looking for new technologies to employ in the fight against crime. Thus, continuous as well as dynamic business development is at the core of all Homestar Security business processes. We strongly believe that Homestar Security is a market leader in security, installation and the armed response industry.”
In addition, the company’s investment in advanced technological systems and strategic security solutions sets it apart from other companies. Homestar deploys Netsar fleet management systems, as well as vehicle-tracking systems and vehicle cameras, which very few companies utilise in their fleet. This allows the company’s tactical response team to respond to an array of emergencies.
As part of the company’s social responsibility, Homestar makes sure to do its part by sponsoring armed response services to selected government schools, in addition to sharing its resources to aid neighbourhood watch groups and Nampol with active cases, along with petrol stations and matters beyond remuneration.
