With its head office located in Windhoek, Emcon Consulting Group works with a diverse group of people, bringing together engineers, planners, scientists, policy experts and project managers, supported by regional and international associates.

Emcon contributes to the Namibian economy by employing up to 37 employees.

"Emcon is proud of its history of leading the market in several areas over the past 30 years. We are proud to be Namibian-owned and Namibian-staffed," project manager Pewer Fourie said.

The group endeavours to contribute to development, especially in Namibia, through innovative approaches that consider local realities and economic circumstances by using technological solutions in innovative ways.

"Our success is testament to the quality staff we employ and the long-standing relationships we have built with our clients over the years," Fourie said.

In addition to quality services provided by the company, it also provides financial aid to several initiatives, proving that the company believes in giving back to the community at large.

Initiatives that Emcon supports:

• Financial support to Basketball Art School (BAS) in Katutura

• Financial support to Dagbreek School

• Financial support to Bicycling Empowerment Network Namibia (BEN)

• Financial support to disadvantaged students to attend private school

The company is considerate of the environment and has the greenest building in Namibia.

"Emcon is extremely proud to announce that we now officially occupy the "greenest" building in Namibia, as our Windhoek office has achieved a coveted six-star Green Star SA EBP rating," said Fourie.

He said the rating is the highest possible and is considered to signify "world leadership" in the field.

Emcon has developed significant skills in the Namibian market, with several other firsts attached. Emcon conducted the first rural electrification projects with the first implementation of pre-payment metering, assisting with the restructuring of the electricity supply industry in Namibia post-independence.
