Selma Angunga joins Alexforbes Namibia
Brings an abundance of abilities to the table
Reflecting on her career path with Alexforbes thus far, she describes it as both rewarding and transformative.
Alexforbes Namibia has announced the appointment of Selma Kaunapawa Queenie Shiwa-Ovanhu Angunga as their new senior consultant. Hailing from the small town of Omaruru, Angunga brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to the financial services industry, particularly in retirement fund and employee benefit consulting.
In her role at Alexforbes Namibia, she will be responsible for a wide range of tasks aimed at ensuring client satisfaction and compliance. Her job entails client consulting and compliance, achieving new business revenue targets, cross-selling services, providing quality service and client care, and overseeing performance projects.
Angunga’s educational background is strong, laying a solid foundation for her career. She completed her high school education at Etosha Secondary School in 2007 before pursuing an accounting degree at the University of Namibia (Unam) from 2008 to 2012. In 2016, she studied investment analysis and portfolio management at the University of South Africa (Unisa), and she is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration degree at Unam.
Valuable addition
Despite her initial ambition to work as an auditor for an audit firm, Angunga found her true calling in the financial services sector. Her career has been marked by a passion for helping clients optimise their retirement savings and employee benefits.
“I found a rewarding path in retirement fund and employee benefit consulting, which has allowed me to utilise my skills and knowledge effectively while contributing to the client’s retirement savings,” she said. This passion, combined with her extensive knowledge and expertise, makes her a valuable addition to the Alexforbes Namibia team.
In her free time, she enjoys baking, eating out, and shopping online.
“These hobbies provide a nice balance to my professional life and allow me to relax and enjoy my personal time," said Angunga.
