Namibia Media Holdings proudly launched their 24/7 online streaming platform oneuptwo.com this year and despite the immense growth the all-Namibian streaming platform is expecting to make bigger strides in 2022.

“This has been building up since we started our first show, Kletskompas, three years ago. I was tasked with getting a platform suitable for streaming our content at certain hours and two days later I had to find a platform for 24-hour streaming for people to watch whenever they need and whenever they please,” says Richard Botha, the digital marketing officer for Synergi, the marketing and advertising brand under Namibia Media Holdings.

Botha foresees the future of oneuptwo.com to be a sport fanatic’s wildest dreams. “We want it to become a hub of sport and include more statistics of Namibian sport,” he says.

However big the vision for sport fans is, the rest of oneuptwo.com’s viewership is long not forgotten as Botha tells of hopes to create an improved video-on-demand system as well as ensuring a top-class user experience for viewers.

Botha feels that Oneuptwo offers viewers an experience unlike any other on the market. “The difference with Oneuptwo is that we are the biggest producers of local content. Every bit of content on Oneuptwo is made for Namibians by us. Everything is made in house and that is extremely unique,” he says.

Despite the homegrown quality that makes Oneuptwo unique, Botha hopes that this platform’s identity will consist of more than its origins. “Being all-Namibian makes us unique, but we live in a global age where people are watching content from all over the world and we need to be competitive,” he says.

In the future, Botha hopes to get more hands on deck as the service expands.

“There’s always a need for more hands and more creative people who can invest the time and knowledge into this,” he says.

Botha is however of the opinion that there may be a lack of knowledge in Namibia. “I think here in Namibia we have more than enough time but knowledge is scarce,” he says.
