A first for Namibia: Shell launches fuel card
A new level in fleet fuel management evolution.
Yochanaan Coetzee - A new level in fleet fuel management evolution. Vivo Energy, the Namibian licence holder for Shell Petroleum has officially launched their new Shell fuel card in Namibia, bringing with it a new level of secure convenience and highly-advanced fleet management systems already built in.
“This is truly a first for Namibia. Not only are we the first non-finance related company to offer a Bank of Namibia-approved fuel card for both pre- and postpaid customers, we are also putting a whole new level of intelligent fleet fuel management tools in the hands of our customers,” said Johan Grobbelaar, Vivo Energy Namibia's managing director, at the launch of the fuel card yesterday at Shell Lafrenz in Windhoek.
“Best of all, no fees are charged whatsoever,” he added to the delight of the crowd.
Over five million Shell fuel cards are used by fleet managers across 50 countries every day.
Its proven high-tech security features, which use chipped cards, secret pin numbers and car and driver identification tags, make using the system completely safe and add peace of mind to its long list of benefits.
Customisable
“It's also highly customisable. A client can set a whole range of parameters, including restrictions on the type of fuel, geographical limits, times of day and what vehicle-related or store goods and services can be purchased on the card,” said Ilongeni Akwenye, business planning manager at Vivo Energy Namibia.
Clients can also take advantage of their interest-free credit postpaid solutions or make use of its prepaid system for ultimate control.
Thanks to the PetrolPlus Web Suite (PWS) platform you can review and control all activity on your cards quickly and remotely.
Using the downloadable fleet management reports and invoice database will greatly simplify your admin and keep you on the pulse of your fuel costs. One can easily order new cards or cancel cards via the PWS platform as well.
