A winning manufacturer
If you are interested in the Namibian manufacturing sector, you would probably have heard of Guan’s Packaging before.
This manufacturer is a shining star at the annual Namibia Manufacturers Association (NMA) Manufacturer of the Year awards.
Over the past three years, they have walked away with three consecutive trophies for the Overall Large Manufacturer of the Year, including at the recently held edition of the awards.
This is proof that Guan’s Packaging is a leader in their industry. They were also awarded the NMA Ambassador of the Year award for the past two consecutive years.
In 2014, they were awarded a gold award by the Sam Nujoma Innovation Enterprise Development Awards for their innovation and contribution to the Namibian manufacturing sector. They are the only manufacturer to ever receive this award.
According to Herman Krauze, general manager at Guan’s Packaging, the company had a humble start in 2010, with floor space of less than 10 000 square metres and only a handful of clients.
“I remember our first NMA entry was in 2013 for the SME category and we won gold that year; we were very proud,” he said.
Since then, they have expanded their facility to just over 22 000 square metres, and subsequently won 14 awards to date.
This highlights the fact that they are leaders in their field, and are setting the standard. Guan’s Packaging has made a positive contribution to not only the local economy in and around Walvis Bay, but to the entire country since 2010. Their name has become synonymous with total commitment, strong principles and high quality products throughout the southern African region.
Along with creating new Namibian jobs and introducing an enormous investment into the Namibian economy, Guan’s Packaging also ensures that Namibia exports cartons to neighbouring countries through a network of fairly newly, established clients.
“Although these are tough times, we are fully committed to continue growing and will continue to make a difference,” Krauze said.
Moving forward
Having invested in the latest equipment and technologies available, Guan’s Packaging ensures less down time, extremely low deviance in terms of equipment performance and superior quality and printing ability.
“We ensure the latest equipment, technologies and manufacturing techniques are employed in our factory. This in return benefits all stakeholders in the chain of supply of highly competitive, high quality products at shorter manufacturing lead times.”
According to Krauze, it is the company’s vibrant and committed Namibian team that continue to provide their clients with premium quality products and excellent service.
Continuous investment and further product development - coupled with employee training - ensures their products remain highly competitive.
Being committed and setting the standard comes naturally to this Guan’s Packaging.
It has been built on very strong principles and is a true testament to the fact that anything is achievable through hard work, integrity and loyalty.
