Namibian cyclists Vera Adrian and Tristan de Lange failed to secure winning spots at the Cape Town Cycle Tour, which took place in South Africa yesterday.
The 42nd edition of the biggest timed bicycle race in the world began at Grand Parade and traversed the peninsula for 109 km, ending in Green Point.
The event saw around 30 000 cyclists competing for top honours this year.
Adrian began the race in the leading pack but could not finish in the top three as Cherise Willeit defended her title, clocking 02:07:48.
Frances Janse van Rensburg finished in second place, while Hayley Preen came in third.
De Lange also failed to capitalise on his recent form and did not make it in the top three as Travis Barret secured the title, clocking 02:30:04 on the day.
Barret was followed by Clint Hendricks in second place, while Jayde Julius finished in third.
