Alexander Forbes sponsors N$60 000 to fight cancer
The Cancer Association of Namibia (CAN) will host the 11th Annual Hats & Roses Ladies Breakfast in support of Women fighting Cancer in Namibia on Saturday 1 October 2016 at the Safari Conference Centre.
Alexander Forbes sponsors the event to the tune of N$60 000, while JC le Roux, Faika’s Decor, Mikel-Jess, Safari Hotel and Interpack are the other main sponsors.
Erika Reissner of Alexander Forbes says the company offers various insurance products for women, especially for breast cancer. “This is for women to be assisted when being diagnosed with cancer – any type of cancer.
“Therefore our sponsorship towards this worthy cause is earmarked to enhance funds for extended research, better treatment but also to assist CAN to get into the villages with their mobile clinics in all corners of our country, offering women the opportunity to have themselves screened and be supported with treatment if positively diagnosed with cancer,” she says.
A whopping 520 of the 800 seats were already sold out at the time of going to press due to the past successes and word of mouth support.
Well-known international musician and stage personality Chris Chameleon will present a motivational journey of music, song and talk all focussed on the theme for this year’s event: “The Woman in the Mirror.”
Namibian diva song sensation Essence will bring rhythm to the party, while the desert charmer, Christo Biewenga, promises to charm from behind the piano.
Tickets are for sale at the Cancer Association of Namibia, 90 John Meinert Street, Windhoek West, or by e-mail at [email protected] at N$4 500 per table or N$450 per single entry ticket.
All funds generated are earmarked for Patient Financial Assistance to women fighting cancer in Namibia. During the previous financial year, CAN expended more than N$3,4 million towards support for patients diagnosed with cancer; whether financial, commodity assistance, medical bills and transport for the less fortunate in order to receive treatment.
