The PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Business School and the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) have signed an agreement to solidify their partnership, but also to close the gap that exists between the education and private sectors.
To help inform future accountants of the Namibian tax legislation, the PwC Business School donated 300 VAT textbooks to the department of accounting, economic and finance in the faculty of management sciences.
The business school came to the realisation that there were very few resources for the students on Namibian Tax legislation, and they trust that this will be a helpful tool in order to help students make a success of their studies.
“We hope that this will commemorate this occasion and kick-start this journey. I would like to thank NUST for their relentless pursuit and commitment towards their joint business relationship,” said Chantell Husselmann of the PwC Business School .
NUST acting vice-chancellor Mornè du Toit said the agreement is a logical step in a journey that began a year ago, when PwC and NUST partnered to organise and host a panel discussion on public-private partnerships.
“Following this very successful event in early 2019, representatives from the PwC Business School and the Harold Pupkewitz Graduate School of Business began discussions and consultation around the possibility of establishing a long-term partnership,” he said.
This agreement establishes a formal relationship between NUST and PwC Business School. The two institutions also plan on a signing of their first Statement of Work setting out the exact terms of collaboration.
This SoW means that the PwC Business School and the HP-GSB will jointly offer workshops and training seminars to the public as well as other public engagement activities.
