Athletics development club on a roll
Namibian athletes at heart
Enzo Amuele – The Athletics Development Club came into being on 8 March after receiving approval from Athletics Namibia.
Since then, the Swakopmund club has been busy scouting athletes to ensure that its athlete base grows. Their main focus is to develop young athletes, and so it started the Pupkewitz Foundation training camp and competition, which took place from 22 to 24 April.
According to the president of the club, the well-known high jump coach Hennie Horn, the athlete base grew rapidly and they found it necessary to create a more diverse coaching base to cater for the various track and field disciplines.
On 10 July, Athletics Development Club will host a global virtual track and field competition.
The club will officially be launched on 10 July after the virtual competition and will also unveil its uniforms at a function at The Dome.
