The two-day Standard Bank Auto Show that took place along with the Biltongfees last weekend, saw thousands of eager vehicle enthusiasts from all corners of the country attending in hopes of securing the best deals on vehicles that the bank had on offer.

Revellers were also entertained by Freestyle Motocross World Champion Libor Podmol, along with his companions Nick and Dallen with their gravity-defying stunts.

Standard Bank’s head of personal and business banking Mercia Geises, who officially opened the Auto Show, thanked the dealers for partnering with the bank to make the event a success.

“As Standard Bank we understand our dealers. Thanks to our dealerships for doing business with us. The dealers are generally concerned about the preservation of the cars and that is why we are hosting them in a glass tent this year. Every car fits a personality, so find the car that fits your personality.”

Visitors to the auto show received pre-approval at the Auto Show as the bank’s entire Vehicle and Asset Finance (VAF) team was on site for approval, which allowed some customers to walk away with their new vehicles.

The brand new Audi Q3 was sold to an elated Sylvi Shiimbi and her husband Jason from the Audi dealership in Windhoek

Ildiko Nagy of the Audi dealership expressed her gratitude to the bank, saying “This was one of the best offers at the Standard Bank Auto Show this year. Standard Bank is really assisting dealers, especially during these (tough) economic times.”

Jason Engelbrecht of Associated Motor Holding (AMH) said they were pleased to be participating in the Auto Show since it would increase their sales volumes as there has been a significant drop in sales because of South Africa’s junk status that has made customers reluctant to buy cars.

AMH also sponsored a Kia which was won at the Auto Show.

The show not only gives automotive industry representatives and dealers the opportunity to showcase their latest models, but also gives prospective buyers the chance to test the newest vehicles on the market, all the while jumping the queue to get pre-approval for their dream car at affordable financing rates.

The bank is still offering the Auto Show specials of prime less of up to 1.75% on the interest rate and an annual insurance offering with one-month holiday on credit life offering. This special runs until today.
