Be on guard, be alert

I had a dream the other night about the “second coming” of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I dreamt that I had said something that offended someone. As he walked towards me as if to harm me, I reached to the back seat of my car and gave him a few copies of my book “Our King is coming” and said “give it to the people”.

For many this year has been tragic. I lost my precious husband of 34 years to a Covid death. This Corona virus came like “a thief in the night” to terrorise people.

We were all unprepared for the negative impact it will have on many lives. The nations were caught off guard.

Are we being warned about the end of the age? The day Lord Jesus returns.

Mark 13:32

“No one knows about that day or hour not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be on guard. Be alert. You do not know when that time will come."

Many of us who have lost loved ones have questions regarding their untimely deaths.

Recently the Holy Spirit brought to my remembrance 2 Corinthians 4:8-9:

“We are hard-pressed on every side but not crushed; perplexed but not in despair; persecuted but not abandoned; struck down but not destroyed."

There is an account in the Holy Bible where some followers of Jesus Christ left Him.

At the question from Lord Jesus whether others also want to leave, Simon Peter gave the right answer:

John 6:68-69

"Simon Peter answered Him: 'Lord to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We believe and know that you are the Holy One of God.'"
