In what is to be expected from a luxury brand, Pupkewitz BMW held the grand opening of their new showroom in spectacular fashion in the capital on Thursday evening.

“What has been done with this facility is amazing and it is a great representation of BMW,” said Tim Abbott, chief executive of BMW South Africa. “What the group has done here with this investment bears testimony to the brand.”

According to Abbott, the new showroom is all about customers and customer delivery. “We have great faith in our partners,” he added.

The future

Excited about what the future of the company holds, Abbott said that he is fascinated about what is to come for the brand.

“I was in Munich last week and was privileged to share in the vision and the future of cars for the company. The future is incredibly bright.”

BWM has already spent N$2.2 billion on facilities in Africa, with new facilities in Bloemfontein, Durban and Cape Town in South Africa, as well as in Senegal, Nigeria, Ivory Coast and Kenya.

“Last year, the group finished building the 3 Series, consisting of a total of 1.1 billion vehicles. Two new training centres are also being developed,” he said, adding that the board in Munich has great faith in how the brand is delivering on a different level in Africa.

“This is mainly thanks to retail partners like here [in Windhoek], who are doing a great job.”

In the next 12 months, BMW enthusiasts can look forward to a number of models being introduced in the market, including the Z4, the 8 Series Coupe and the 7 Series, to name a few.
