Borskankermaand: CAN gesels oor borskanker

It’s not every day that you find 1 000’s of Speedo-clad men running through the streets of Johannesburg during Friday afternoon traffic – but once a year, men of all shapes and sizes gather for a good cause and a whole lot of fun. Born in a pub in 2009, the Daredevil Run has gone from one brave soul daring to jog through peak hour traffic in a Speedo, to a massive countrywide phenomenon with a noble cause.The Hollard Daredevil Run will take to the streets of Johannesburg in order to raise further awareness of prostate and testicular cancer.Each year, more and more men join the Daredevil movement to help run cancer outta town. The more men that participate, the louder our message is heard. In turn this results in a greater amount of money being raised. These funds will be spent on cancer screening and awareness programmes in disadvantaged communities across South Africa.Screening for prostate and testicular cancer is crucial as early detection literally saves lives. The Hollard Daredevil Run marks the 6th year we’ll be asking the brave men of our country to run through the streets of Mzansi, wearing nothing but a speedo and some pride! Hollard Daredevil Run 2015 stats:Over 3000 men and boys took part in the run.600+ PSA tests were done. This is the largest number of PSA tests done by CANSA during an event.
