Cancer Ball postponed
“The year 2016 posed fundamental changes and severe challenges to corporate Namibia.
“The most central being effects on cash flow, profitability and disposable income.
This poses technical practicalities to effectively execute an event of the Cancer Ball's magnitude, as many institutions have requested a date change in order to have an adequate budget to support the ball that in turn funds the National Cancer Outreach Programme,” says Mr. Rolf Hansen, CEO of the Cancer Association of Namibia (CAN).
He says that this event is of such importance and value to the Association, that following an emergency meeting earlier this week, a decision was made to postpone the event until 5 August 2017; with the venue and all other arrangements remaining the same.
“We believe that the new date will give corporate Namibia the needed time to budget and support the event as has been requested by several supporting institutions; and that all project partners have the time to ensure that all tables are sold and in addition allow the Association to spend more time on publicity for the event sponsors.”
He said the annual ball will then fit into a new slot and will be held every year on the first Saturday of August. “We apologise for any inconvenience this date change may have caused. Meanwhile we at CAN are in personal contact will all sponsors, project partners and guests to make the necessary arrangements.”
