MiLash Cosmetics - that would eventually blossom into what is now known as Chrissla Essentials Cosmetics CC - made its debut in 2016.

Since the establishment of the local skincare line, Chrissla Essentials has become a safe haven catering for women struggling with a range of issues from skincare to eyelash growth. The growing business, which has a network of 46 sales agents, 24 pharmacies as well as two retailers across the SADC region, solves challenges such as acne, blemishes and scars with the use of 100% pure essential and carrier oils.

The co-founder of the business Loide Amadhila said it all began with a gap in the market when it came to women finding beauty within themselves after the make-up came off.

“After seeing so many ladies struggling to make small, short lashes attractive and being forced to wear fake eyelashes, I started searching for ways to grow longer lashes naturally.”

Amadhila went on to say that gap in the market birthed the brand MiLash.

Perfecting the eyelash serum, which was the only product back then, the co-founder took a keen interest in essential oils and start doing research in that regard. She set up consultations with professionals in the field to equip her with everything she needed to know and to make the perfect serum from internationally and locally sourced essential oils.

Amadhila said after rigorous exploration into the properties and health benefits of various essential oils, she found that there were amazing cosmetic perks that came along with them. She began digging deeper into oils effective in treating skin problems such as dark spots as well as ageing skin and as a result, “we had to change the name of the business to accommodate the other essential oil blends that were going to be introduced to the market”.

Not long after that, Chrissla Essentials emerged as a local powerhouse sharing 100% pure essential oil blends with the nation.

All these are infused with nothing but essential oils blended together into a wide range of products beneficial to all skin types.

“We are not only focused on providing society with beautiful, flawless and glowing skin, but also targeting the high unemployment rate,” Amadhila said.

She added that they aim to improve the lives of thousands of families.

‘Changed my life’

Meanwhile, Ponicia Kashimbode, a sales representative, said Chrissla Essentials has changed her life “in so many ways”.

“The profits I can make are limitless and I can now take care of my family by selling these amazing products,” she said. She is one of the many employees who are active members of society and is now successfully putting her daughter through university from this local business.

Amadhila said: “We feel very grateful to have the opportunity to continue building this extraordinary legacy”.

Chrissla Essentials hopes to become a household name and a successful direct-selling company that is a leader in customer service with a loyal customer following.
