Copper dips on US data
Copper prices eased yesterday, as the US dollar held gains on higher than expected US inflation, making greenback-priced metals more expensive for holders of other currencies. Three-month copper on the London Metal Exchange (LME) dipped 0.1% to US$10 440 a tonne at 0718 GMT. LME copper notched a record peak of US$10 747.50 on Monday, having gained nearly 40% so far this year. Namibia in March exported copper worth N$2.186 billion, of which N$2.152 billion were re-exports. Photo Nampa/Reuters
