Dancing couples show their class
The Dance Domain Open Championships is arguably the largest competition of Ballroom, Latin and Speciality Pro/Am competitive dancing held in South Africa.
The main competition, held in Cape Town late last month, is a yearly event which attracts competitors from all over the country and includes overseas competitors as well.
There are approximately 250 competitors that attend this event, and it is adjudicated by internationally renowned adjudicators.
Dance Domain Windhoek has been attending this event for several years now.
There are events leading up to it, like the SADF Nationals taking place in early December in Johannesburg, as well as training from top SA and international coaches.
Congratulations are extended to all Dance Domain Namibia’s dancers that competed in the championships. Overall the group brought back 42 gold medals, 37 silver medals and 38 bronze medals.
The dancers were Christelle van der Merwe (owner and instructor), Bertie van der Merwe (co-owner and student), Christie Mostert (co-owner and instructor), Alicia Brandt (instructor), Juanita Visser (instructor), Gerschwinn Hamunyela (instructor), Juan-Mari Coetzee (instructor), Nadine Baas (student), Shaniqua Hein (student), Ashante van Wyk (student), Francois Kotze (student), Luca Coffee (student), Gabby Coffee (student), Cornelia Uys (student) and Nadine Birch (student).
