Drawing competition
Mindsinaction, in collaboration with Sat-Com, launch a drawing competition

Sat-Com Namibia and Mindsinaction are collaborating on a drawing competition to give primary school learners the chance to win full modules in a robotics course at Mindsinaction STEAM.
Mindsinaction STEAM centre is a space where learners explore science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics through fun hands-on activities. They offer multiple robotics courses. Sat-Com is part of the August 26 Group of companies in the Namibian defence industry and designs and manufactures state-of-the-art military communication equipment, including various mounting and racking systems and pre-qualify add-on accessories.
Sat-Com Namibia and Mindsinaction are collaborating in the drawing competition because they want to see the interest among schools and learners in STEAM courses. Through Sat-Com’s social responsibility, they will be able to sponsor more learners from different schools to attend the robotic programme and STEAM modules with Mindsinaction.
The requirements to be a part of the competition are the following:
Learners should research Sat-Com via their website sat.com.na. Who is Sat-Com? What do they do?
The learners should then draw - on an A4 paper or bigger - what they think Sat-Com is and what they want Sat-Com to be. Learners may use pencil, colour, paint, etc. to draw. The competition is targeted a grade four to seven learners.
The competition winners will have a chance to attend the following modules at the Mindsinaction STEAM centre in Windhoek from 14:00 to 16:30, once a week for eight weeks:
Module 1: Introduction to robotics and programming
Module 2: Scratch programming
Module 3: Basic electronics, microcontrollers and programming
1st prize: Module 1, Module 2, Module 3
2nd prize: Module 1, Module 2
3rd prize: Module 1
Winners will be selected and informed on 4 February. They will then attend the programme from 7 February. The last date for submission is 3 February.
