Dreams for the future
Planning for your future can be scary but only for people who don’t know which direction they’re moving in. The learners at Hage Geingob Secondary School shared their visions with The Zone.
Anna Shiyaka
I am planning on passing my Grade 12 with 30 points and going to the Namibia University of Science and Technology. I want to start with accounting because I wish to become a chartered accountant.
Fanuel Shinedima
For 2020, I want to work extra hard to qualify for admission to pursue a career in accounting next year. After that, I want a degree in law and then perhaps venture into leadership. Business is my passion and I think following what you’re passionate about is the key to a happy and successful life.
Silvanus Shilongo
This year, I’m focusing more on my academic performance, working hard towards the profession I want to pursue after I complete school. I want become a bank teller, if everything goes according to plan.
Nuuwanja Amalwa
I’m working towards better results by the end of the year. After grade 12, I would like to study ophthalmology and do something like wedding planning.
Joseph Julius
I want to start with my first year as a student at Nust, majoring civil engineering or medicine. I would also love to study in Windhoek at the Hage Geingob campus. This is going to be the year that will count the most for all the matriculants.
Ester Angula
Being an accountant has always been my passion, so for this year, I am going to be focused so that I can get the best results for the end examinations.
Pentecost Shindjomba
This year is integral and that’s why I want to stay on track to be able to get into any university. Next year, I would like to study medicine in South Africa and make an impact in the lives of young people all over the nation.
Libertine Garoes
I want to obtain good grades for the final examinations. I am someone who is very passionate about medicine, therefore I would like to pursue that further next year. I would also like to do it in South Africa, God willing.
Teopolina Hamutengela
I am planning on passing my Grade 12 with 37 points, so that I can be accepted into Nust or the University of Namibia. That is basically all I am currently focusing on, just getting good results and going to a good school to ensure that I become the best person I can be.
Casanova Norberto
In 2021, if I fail school, I won’t let that get me down. I believe that school is for workers and I don’t intend on being an employee, but a millionaire in the next few years.
Fotolela Ndangi
I want to be more socially innovative in order to try and make a change in our society. To focus on the important things like education as well as my journalism skills and lastly, I want to make the most of the year. To the youth, try a little harder to be a little better.
Helena Sakarias
I want to enroll into a good, if not great, university as well as focus on my school work and family. We don’t have a racing championship for women in Namibia, so I will consider modelling. I also want to get my license this year. I want to make memories and have loads of fun too.
