ELCRN: Issue is votes, not constitution

Mandy Rittmann
ELCRN TRANSFORMATION NATURAL WORK GROUP WRITES:

We really don't understand why people should dwell on the constitution and give us lectures on the content of it. Although some of us got the constitution just before the nominations, we sincerely want us to study By Law 26.3.3, which clearly stipulates that "The votes from the parish/congregations are send in sealed envelopes to both the electoral commission and circuit council and shall only be opened as part of the election of bishop at the church synod".

Our simple question is where are the second bunch of votes which were supposed to be sent to the circuit council? Our conclusion is if the votes were counted at parish level than both institutions could have received similar votes of each candidate in sealed envelopes. These sealed envelopes were supposed to be opened at the synod.

Please the issue at hand is counting of the votes, some people mustn't interpret the constitution only in their favour, and we personally think we don't need any lecture on the constitution any more. We rest our case for now.
