With a trophy cabinet full of awards for everything from outstanding design to class-leading quality, the new Kia Sorento has had a busy year since its local introduction in July 2015, most notably adding a nomination as finalist in the 2016 WesBank / SAGMJ Car of the Year competition to its ever-expanding list of international accolades.
“At the time of its launch last year, the all-new Sorento was a key model for Kia, especially when considering Southern Africa’s affinity for the SUV class of vehicles,” says David Sieff, Marketing Director, Kia Motors South Africa.
“A year later, the Sorento remains a flagbearer of the Kia brand, showcasing not only our global expertise in automotive design, but also in quality execution, as evidenced by our recent number one ranking in the J.D. Power Initial Quality Survey.”
As part of its continuous quest to provide customers with vehicles that perfectly complement their lifestyle, Kia Motors South Africa is introducing a new SXL derivative in the Sorento line-up, featuring a 7” colour touch screen with satellite navigation integrated into the infotainment features as standard.
Based on the existing SX AWD model, the new Sorento SXL is also powered by KIA’s renowned 2,2-litre turbodiesel engine, which develops 147 kW of power and 440 Nm of torque, and mates with a 6-speed automatic transmission and Dynamax All Wheel Drive.
With a vast list of premium standard features, the new SXL model also benefits from cutting-edge features such as Blind Spot Detection with Lane Change Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and KIA’s innovative Smart Power Tailgate.
