This celebration of the grand opening took place on 31 August 2021 at Elysuim Fields in Klein Windhoek.
The Collective Boutique is a designer boutique with two shops in Namibia. Their flagship store is located in the capital, Windhoek. They also have a stunning boutique located in Swakopmund. Nikita Rix-Venter is the founder of both boutiques.
Rix-Venter opened The Skinny Cow Eatery right next to her boutique in Windhoek. This was something she had always dreamed about, but she did not think that it would actually become a reality.
Rix-Venter comes from a family of foodies; her dad a red meat lover and her mom a white meat lover. “Every special occasion and every holiday were planned around food; every meal was an experience. Pair it with wine and it became a celebration,” says Rix-Venter.
During the time that Rix-Venter studied in Cape Town, her love for food grew even more and whenever her mom came to Cape Town they would go to a little pink eatery and it was there that Rix-Venter’s dream started of opening her own boutique eatery. When Rix-Venter decided to open The Skinny Cow Eatery, her idea was to challenge conventional daytime eating, a place where customers can feel safe to treat their tastebuds, to celebrate all their special occasions, a place where every little detail put in place is attended to and a place that people will be drawn to, the dining environment is just as important as the food on the plate.
The Skinny Cow Eatery’s goal is to serve good, simple and honest food in a breathtaking and happy environment, with exceptional customer service where each and every meal is an experience and a celebration.
