Flurry of top appointments, re-appointment

Leoni Dunn has made history as the first woman to be appointed as the second deputy governor of the Bank of Namibia (BoN). Dunn was the director of the Financial Intelligence Centre at the BoN. Pres Hage Geingob re-appointed Johannes !Gawaxab as BoN governor for a five-year term. He also re-appointed Ebson Uanguta, who has served in the capacity of deputy governor since 2012. Nillian Mulemi will take over from Goms Menette as the chairperson of the Government Institutions Pension Fund (GIPF) on 1 January 2022. The GIPF’s board of trustees elected Mulemi, the CEO of the Petroleum Training and Education Fund (Petrofund), to serve until 31 December 2022. Menette’s term as chairperson expires on 31 December.
