For exceptional comfort
The newly established oasis Big Brother Guesthouse is situated a stone’s throw away from the hustle and bustle of the Usakos town centre.
Tsudisa Ditto !Gonteb established the facility in October 2015 after he retired as the director of planning and development services at the Erongo regional council in 2012.
“Usakos is my hometown, and I felt I needed to give back and not settle here empty handed.”
The guesthouse started out with only five rooms, branched out to seven, and now proudly boasts ten rooms, equipped with air conditioners, free internet services, DStv and comfortable beds.
Prices ranges from N$250 - N$390 for a single room, N$500 - N$670 for a double/twin bed room. Breakfast can be added on request for N$60 per plate.
“We want to make quality accommodation accessible for locals as well as foreign visitors to our town.”
The guesthouse also houses an entertainment area and bar which overlook a swimming pool, as well as camping facilities.
The restaurant offers light meals along with pizza at affordable prizes.
Big Brother also welcomes day visitors who can use the braai facilities and another swimming pool at a cost of N$40 for people above 13 years, N$20 for senior citizens and children under 12, with free entrance for children under 2 and senior citizen older than 80.
“It is the perfect venue for birthdays, baptisms, confirmations, wedding parties, baby showers, yearend functions and reunions. Conference facilities are also available.”
There are ostriches, springboks and different bird species to view. The owners are planning on adding ostrich riding to their itinerary.
Big Brother further extended its footprint by acquiring Jodo Tours Bed & Breakfast. The revamped establishment now serves as the Big Brother Bed & Breakfast located in the heart of Usakos.
“We have four rooms, in a very private, quiet and affordable setting.”
There is also a memorandum of understanding between the guesthouse and the International University of Management (IUM).
“Since our establishment we have accommodated interns each year to brush up on their practical skills in the tourism industry. Our manager, Elie Guriras, and our supervisor, Taimy Filipus, are both hospitality and tourism graduates from IUM.”
