For God so loved the world
EUNICE ANN VAN ZYL WRITES:
We in Namibia have just celebrated our Independence Day. Together with many other Namibians I also want to speak a blessing.
May our heavenly Father bless our nation as we honour Him.
May our Lord Jesus Christ be exalted in our nation.
May the Holy Spirit of truth hover over our nation with mercy and grace that is sufficient for all of us.
I do not know much about the country New Zealand. I know like us, their population is small. Their national anthem ends with the words “God bless New Zealand”. It is the land of the much loved rugby team the All Blacks.
I also was greatly saddened about the mosque attack in Christchurch. An attack of this nature on a place of worship is always shocking and shameful.
The Holy Bible makes it clear that the Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross for the whole world.
John 3:16-17
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.”
The people of New Zealand must be so proud of their lady prime minister, Ms Jacinda Ardern. What a leader!
She took swift and decisive action to change the gun laws to protect all the people of her country.
With all that is happening to shake the nations, we must all apply Ephesians 6:18: “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.”
