Forty teams join fundraiser
Golf
The Sages Fundraiser at Omeya Golf Club has become a very popular event on the Namibian golfing calendar. The event benefit charities including the Cancer Association, the Save the Rhino Trust and a number of others.
Tomorrow forty teams will participate in this two-day event with players coming as far as Walvis Bay.
Round 1 will be played at Omeya Golf Club with the second and final round being played at Windhoek Golf & Country Club.
The management of the Omeya Golf Club would like thank the Sages for choosing its course a part of this prestigious event.

WINDHOEK COUNTRY CLUB
Club officials have announced that due to unforeseen circumstances, the Windhoek Country Club Championships has been postponed until 29 October and will not take place this weekend, as scheduled.
The tournament will now be played on a single day and will be competed over 36 holes.
• Last weekend saw the continuation of the tripartite partnership between Namibia National Reinsurance Corporation, the STAG (Society of Tuesday and Thursday Afternoon Golfers) and the Windhoek Golf and Country Club.
The format was betterball with combined scores on the par 3’s.
At the prize-giving, Liz Tashiya of NamibRe said the sponsor was very happy with the partnership so far and that they were looking forward to receiving a more comprehensive proposal for 2017 from the STAG and the WGCC.
The prize-giving was held in the lapa and followed by music and a braai on a wonderful spring evening.
The winners on the day were as follows:
