#FreeHugsNam this Saturday
Hugs4Christ will be hosting its third and final #FreeHugsNam outreach this Saturday, 26 November 2016 at the Wernhil Park Shopping Centre and Post Street Mall. This outreach will serve as a Christmas outreach, to spread love and positive vibes before the beginning of the Festive Season.
"We feel it is important to do this outreach to create a community that loves each other and we hope to break any racial, religious or social boundaries through this outreach. Although we are a biblical based project, our mission is to spread love to whoever is open to receive a free hug," a statement by Hugs4Christ reads.
The initiative was started by two young men who thought the world needed more positivity and love. The mission is to spread love through hugging and handing out high-fives to random shoppers at different malls.
"We had our first outreach at the Khomas Grove Shopping Centre (Woermann Hyper) in Khomasdal in June and in October we had our second outreach at the Wernhil Shopping Centre. We have received a lot of good feedback and we are hoping to end the year with a bang. We really need the help of the media to spread our message, as we hope to take this initiative countrywide in 2017. We are also using videos to further our outreaches online and we would love to grow this as well."
This coming weekend the organisation hopes to hand out small gifts as well as words of encouragement to not just spread love but to give the people hope.
"We are however, still short on donations and volunteers. If anyone wants to be part of the outreach or if they want to make a donation, they can contact us by sending an e-mail to [email protected] or they can visit our Facebook-page Hugs 4 Christ." #FreeHugsNam starts at 10:30 in front of Pick n Pay.
