German growth forecast lowered

Jo-Mare Duddy Booysen
The German central bank on Friday lowered its outlook for growth in Europe's largest economy next year, as the country contends with persistent supply bottlenecks and the arrival of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus. The Bundesbank revised down its estimate for 2022 to 4.2% from a previous prediction of 5.2% made in June. "The recovery has been somewhat pushed back," central bank president Jens Weidmann said in a statement. Photo Unsplash/ Marius Serban
