Honda Quest True Adventure 2017 is almost a go!
In less than a week from now, on Tuesday, 5 September, the Honda Quest True Adventure 2017 will depart from Windhoek.
From here the 20 finalists, who were selected from almost 900 entries, will embark on the adventure of a lifetime.
Riding on the versatile Honda CRF 1 000 L Africa Twin, they will set off for the first night's camp at the foot of the magnificent Spitzkoppe mountains. There they will be informed about who their team mate for Quest will be. Over the course of the next 11 days, the teams will cover almost 2 500 km through some of the most challenging, but also breathtaking scenery in the world.
The 10 teams of two each will head North towards the Namibia/Angolan border in the Kaokoland, whereafter they will tackle the notorious Van Zyl’s Pass, descend into the sweeping Marienfluss and then head South, meandering through the elephant rich habitats of Damaraland.
Although riding skills is a given, the instructors at Quest will also look for leadership abilities, camaraderie, initiative, inquisitiveness and positive attitudes - all necessary skills for adventure riding.
After the convoy arrives back in Windhoek on 15 September, the winning team of Quest True Adventure 2017 will be announced at a special ceremony later that day. Both team members will become proud owners of the fully kitted out Honda CRF 1 000 L Africa Twin motorcycles they competed on.
