Lohmann father and son win at Country Club

The Windhoek Golf and Country Club hosted the Pupkewitz Honda betterball last Saturday. The day was well supported with a full field.The format was a betterball, scramble drive with two secret multiplier holes which resulted in some big scores for those teams who played well on the two allotted holes (hole 1 and 10).At the end of the day it was the father and son team of Willie and Charlie Lohmann who took away the first prize with a massive score of 76 points. In second place was Moritz von Prittwitz and Gerhard van Rooyen (73 points) followed by Cor Beuke and Keith Gardener (72).• The Country Club hosted its own corporate day last Friday to raise funds as part of the Sanlam cancer initiative.The day was supported by SMC Brands and the format was a fourball alliance, scramble drive, two scores to count. Participation was excellent and the corporates as well as the players really opened their hearts which enabled the club to raise N$52 000 on the day.All the proceeds raised will be paid over to the Cancer Association.• The Windhoek Lager monthly medley series event for August will take place at the Country Club tomorrow.
