Minister of mines visits electricity sites

The minister of mines and energy (MME), Mr Obeth Kandjoze, together with his delegation, is visiting various electricity sites in the Erongo region this week.

The purpose of the visit is to check on the progress and condition of the sites which have already been commissioned including those which are still under construction and will be commissioned soon.

According to the ministry’s senior public relations officer, Mr Andreas Simon, the ministry intends to familiarise itself with the current progress on the ground. The sites forming part of the visit include Metdecci Energy Investment, Sertum Energy, Erongo Red - OLC Arandis Solar Energy plant and various power plants along the coastline.

Site visits by the deputy minister and permanent secretary were also conducted in the south and north of the country during the same period.
