My first five days in Statehouse

Mandy Rittmann
THE PAPER PRESIDENT WRITES:

I do not know what others will do, but here is my list.

1) On day one, I will by presidential decree arrest the Director and top management of the Anti-Corruption Commission for failing in their mandate to stem and root out corruption. In fact their lacklustre performance is tantamount to corruption.

2) On day two the “kickback kings” and all others in the private and public sector, and their cronies, whom siphoned/stripped this country from its hard fought political and economic gains, will be arrested for economic sabotage, economic treason and high treason for colluding with foreigners to bring this country economical unto its knees. I will ensure that since the charges are treason related, that no bail be granted, and if the “Caprivi Trial” took years to conclude, this one would be a walk in the park compared to the time frame I will set out for this case to be concluded.

3) Day three will be the salary-cut day for all Ministers, Deputies and all high profile and high earning public officials. The minimum cut will be 30% of their salaries, benefits and perks. All government vehicles used by these official and ministers will be returned to government, and they will have first option to buy such vehicles at market related prices. The same economic option will apply to the properties they occupy at government expense.

4) Teaching and learning at schools will with immediate effect be extended to 17h00 on day four. Non-compliance will be dealt with upgraded, effective legal procedures.

5) On day five, if I am still alive and not assassinated, a compulsory Know Your Neighbour campaign will be declared and all empty government and private properties (houses) will be allocated to the homeless and needy.
