Nakayale VTC gets inaugural advisory board
OUTAPI – Omusati Regional Governor Erginus Endjala on Wednesday commissioned the first-ever advisory board of the Nakayale Vocational Training Centre (NVTC) at Outapi.
Endjala urged members of the board to work closely with the people in the region and listen to their needs, especially on the training programmes that should be offered at the NVTC.
He suggested that the centre should offer vocational training programmes responding particularly to the needs of the region.
“It is our obligation and duty to educate the youth to understand that the world economy of the day is a brain-based economy,” Endjala told members of the board.
He said there is a need for Namibian youth to be offered vocational training that enables them to participate actively in the economic development of the country.
Established under the Namibia Training Authority (NTA) in 2011, the NVTC offers office administration, hospitality and tourism, and general electrical courses to some 300 young Namibians.
The advisory board is chaired by the Omusati Region''s Acting Chief Regional Officer Gervasius Kashindi, who is deputised by businessman Joshua Haimbodi.
Other members are Laban Shapange (regional education director), Helena Thomas (Outapi Town Council financial officer), Petrus Nambele (businessman), Anna Hembili (youth representative) and Immanuel Mweudina (businessman).
