On 1 December, Namib Mills handed over backpacks filled with stationery to 60 best performing learners from six schools.
The schools, which were randomly selected, are: People’s, Mandume, Martti Ahtisaari, Moses //Garoeb, Havana and Otjomuise primary schools.
“I am so happy to be here today to witness the handover of stationery to the top performing learners. As a parent and a teacher, it brings me great joy to see corporate companies such as Namib Mills giving back,” the head of department of People’s Primary School Hilbertine Mbasuva said.
She urged other companies to follow suit and invest in the future leaders of tomorrow.
The principal of Moses //Garoeb Primary School Judy Sepiso said the learners were excited about receiving the goodies, adding that the donation will encourage other learners to work hard in school as well.
Namib Mills has remained active with giving back in various communities across the country, and is looking forward to seeing this initiative become bigger and better, the company said.
