Namlce backs the Botswana MX Team

NAMICE has shown its interest in MX racing for several years already and is a true supporter of Namibia's X-treme sport Number One. NamIce will be the patron for the team from Botswana at the Inter-Series. Botswana will be represented by a youngster who already shone at previous Inter-Series when he won the 85cc Class in 2001, when he skillfully demonstrated his guts by winning the 2002 Inter-Series 125cc Class, when he became AMU Africa 125cc Champion in 2003, and repeated that feat in 2005.

All that at his beloved Gallina Motocross Park. Ross Branch was born on 5th May 1986. He started racing in 1994. In 1997 Ross participated in the Gauteng Championship and finished as runner-up. 2001 was also a good year - in the AMU Championship in Pietermaritzburg he finished in 3rd position.

He also came third in the South African Championships and he won the Botswana Championship with 21 wins in 21 races! In 2002 he won the Botswana Championship and finished third in the AMU Africa Championships in Kenya. In 2003 Ross was signed by the German Bodo Schmidt Team in the pits at Gallina and raced the 2004 season in Germany with mixed results, winning the Deutsche Moto Cross Pokal (Group South).

The year after he raced for the Pfeil Kawasaki Team, again with mixed results, many crashes and some misfortune. For 2006 he was signed by the EBS-Sturm Team, before he returned to Botswana for good. In Namibia Ross finished that same year as runner-up behind German Benny Kolberg. The second rider in the NamIceTeam is Carr Lebatha. Unfortunately by the time of going to press, there was still no profile of "Black Pearl" Carr available. We hear that he is very talented.

He participates successfully in Botswana with some Top-3 results, he managed some Top-10 results in South Africa and he tried his luck in Namibia 6 weeks ago in Gobabis, where he finished in an excellent 5th overall. The 3m guy from Botswana is Vincent Conlon. Vincent is 17 years old and has been racing for many years already.

In 2001 he won the 65cc Class in the Botswana Championship. In 2003 and 2005 he became Botswana champion in the 85cc Class and won the National Championship in the 125cc Class the same year. Currently Vincent is racing the SA Championships in the National 125 High School Class, where we find him in 14th position in his first year.

Those youngsters from Botswana are a force to reckon withI The first event will be held on 3 November under the offical name "Red Bull MX Classic", while the second event and highlight of this series will be held one week later, on 10 November, under the official name "Camel MX Dash for Cash".
