'n Retraite is deur die Trauma Healing Network 15 km noord van Opuwo aangebied, met 22 mense uit die gemeenskap wat dit bygewoon het. Tydens die wegbreek het deelnemers die geleentheid gekry om die Bybelse boodskap van hoop en heling te ervaar. Sommige deelnemers het gesukkel met negatiewe emosies en ongesonde hanteringsmeganismes, terwyl ander in die strik van ontkenning, selfblaam en vrees vasgeval het. Deelnemers het tydens die wegbreek nuwe vaardighede aangeleer wat hulle in staat sal stel om trauma te bestuur en met hoop te volhard sonder om 'n slagoffer van hul omstandighede te word.
