Two Namibian World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Africa title holders, Lukas ‘The Demolisher’ Ndafoluma and Immanuel Josef, will defend their titles on 11 December against Tanzanian and South African opponents.
This was announced here on Wednesday by MTC Salute Boxing Academy’s Chairperson Kiriat Kamanya.
Ndafoluma is the current WBO middleweight WBO Africa champion and will defend his title against South African Nkululeko Mhlongo.
The Namibian pugilist holds a record of 24 fights, 20 wins, three losses and one no contest, while his opponent has 32 fights, 22 wins, nine losses and one draw.
Josef, with a record of 17 fights, 12 wins and 4 losses is the current WBO flyweight Africa champion and will face Tanzanian Muhsin Kizota who is having a record of 15 fights, 12 wins and three losses.
The event to be held under the theme ‘Building champions where winning is the goal’ is set for the Windhoek Country Club Resort and Casino.
Speaking during the announcement of the boxing event, Ndafoluma promised to knock out his opponent on the day of the fight.
“I am well prepared and I am going to do what I do best that day. I want to make it short and will defend my title for the third time. My main goal is to become a world champion and I won’t let that focus slip away. I only know boxing and that is what I do best. I will keep doing it until I realise my dream of becoming a world champion,” said Ndafoluma.
Meanwhile, Joseph said he wants to celebrate his victory with his family during the festive season and under no circumstances will he allow his title to go out of Namibia. – Nampa
