New Managing Director for One Africa Television
MS Vivienne Graig is the new Managing Director of One Africa Television Pty Ltd effective from 1 October 2011. The Board of Directors made this announcement after the voluntary resignation of Mr Paul van Schalkwyk as the current Managing Director.
Graig?s involvement in the media industry dates back to 1979 when she joined Namib Advertising and the public relations department. She was also the business manager of the New Era newspaper from 1991? 1995 before her career took her into the financial world of corporate finance and investments, where she filled the position of Managing Director for Investment Solutions Namibia. Thereafter she headed up the Unit Trust Department at Old Mutual Namibia.
She also served two terms as City of Windhoek Councillor and as mayor of Windhoek and she still serves as a member of the Presidential Economic Advisory Council. Graig joined One Africa Television earlier this year as the Sales and Marketing Manager and said she is absolutely delighted to take on the new challenge and responsibility.
?One Africa Television has taken huge strides to grow into a dominant market position as the largest commercial advertising medium in Namibia. Given the short time since its founding, this is a remarkable achievement. With the advent of digitalisation there are many new challenges facing One Africa Television and I hope to build on the solid foundation which was laid by the One Africa Television team.?
By request of the Board of Directors, Paul van Schalkwyk, the outgoing Managing Director and also founder of One Africa Television, will remain involved with the company as executive chairman of the board for the time being.
?I can only say that ever since we started One Africa Television it has probably been the most exciting time of my life, but the time has arrived for me to focus my attention to other aspects of my personal life.
?I am absolutely convinced that Ms Graig is the right person to lead One Africa Television into a very exciting new era of broadcasting in Namibia.
?Since she joined One Africa she has already made a difference and I am looking forward to help and support her to have One Africa reach even greater heights.? he said.
