Omatozu Safari Camp does not only have beautiful luxury tents and camping sites, but now also offers two self-drive routes through the pristine landscape with wildlife in abundance.

Omatozu is located 100 km north of Windhoek on the B1 road and 25 km north of Okahandja in the Otjozondjupa region. Its central location and easy access, just 4km west of the B1, makes it an ideal stop-over at the beginning or end of a trip through Namibia.

Omatozu Safari Camp offers a great opportunity for those wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Its exclusive and personal nature ensures a relaxing and quiet environment that allows you to experience the thrills of outdoor living in a comfortable way.

ACCOMMODATION
Three luxury walk-in tents are nestled between indigenous thorn trees with pathways leading across a lawn towards the main camp facilities. The neat tents with en-suite bathrooms have air-conditioning and electricity in the tents.

About 300 meters away from the main camp are four campsites. The campsites are sheltered by indigenous vegetation at the edge of a small farm dam. Every campsite has its own ablution facilities and circular braai area, 220 Volt electricity point and lights. The bathrooms are clean and have hot showers. Firewood is available for purchase. Campers can make use of the bar facilities at the main camp and dinner and breakfast are available on request.

The entertainment area consists of a deck with a bar, dining room and lounge. The braai area with views onto a farm dam offers the ideal opportunity to experience true Namibian hospitality around a campfire while sitting underneath an incredible Namibian night sky. Watch game drinking at the dam while sipping a sundowner drink on the deck of the lapa.

A cosy dining room with an open fireplace provides the perfect hide-away during cold winter nights and the food is excellent.

WILDLIFE
Omatozu is home to a wide variety species of game including kudu, gemsbok, springbuck, impala, hartebeest, eland, zebra, giraffe, waterbuck, black wildebeest and ostrich to name a few.

Nocturnal animals such as porcupine, ant-bear, honey badger and brown hyena all form part of the ecosystem. Several species of cats including cheetah and leopard are found on the farm, but these are rarely seen. Birdlife is abundant.

ACTIVITIES
With all the fences removed inside the farm, two new self-drive routes offer the opportunity to see plenty of game species.
There is a 4x4 route of 17km on the southern side through beautiful landscapes with omiramba (dry riverbeds), dams and a koppie with a breathtaking view.

The other 2x4 self-drive game viewing route on the northern side is accessible for sedan vehicles and is 20km long.

Omatozu Safari Camp offers a walking trail of 7km and you are also welcome to bring your mountain bike along.

During the warmer months, guest can relax around the swimming pool and for the more energetic there is a volleyball pitch.

The camp is ideal for those wanting to unwind by getting in touch with nature. It offers an opportunity to enjoy the pleasures of staring into the coals underneath a starlit sky. Listen to the sounds of nature during the night while cuddled up safely and warmly in your luxury tent.
