NIDA, Estate Agents boards of directors announced
Trade minister Tjekero Tweya yesterday announced the new Board of Directors of the Namibia Industrial Development Agency (NIDA) and the Estate Agents Board, respectively.

The term of office of the NIDA Board of Directors stretches over a 3-year priod commencing on the 1st August 2018 and ending on the 30th July 2021, Tweya told the media yesterday.
The new directors of the NIDA board are Frans Kwala, Marcelina !!Gaoses, Diana van Schalkwyk, Anita /Naris, Job Muniaro, Hans Jochelson, and Uparura Kuvare.
The NIDA board will be led by Kwala and !Gaoses as chairperson and deputy chairperson respectively.
“I have full confidence in this team. They each bring valuable expertise and excellent qualifications to NIDA and their breakthrough personalities and background checks we have done gives me as the political head of the Ministry of Industrialisation, Trade and SME Development on the eve of the strategic SADC Summit taking place here in Namibia great peace of mind,” Tweya said yesterday.
The minister said he has no doubt that the board is “equally excited like their minister responsible to drive industrialisation, trade and SME development ensuring that we as a collective transform Namibia into an industrialised economy.”
Each of them pledged their full support and commitment to the assignment bestowed to them as a board, he said.
“They have informed me that they will as individual directors and a collective board discharge their fudiciary responsibilities with distinction,” said Tweya.
Estate agents
The new board of Estate Agents Board announced yesterday consist of Anne Thandeka Gebhardt, Nelly Tulonga Neliwa, Amalia Maxine Schmidt, Tjizembua Hongonekua, Phillip Namundjebo, Agostinho Victor, and Ricky Hameva.
“You will realise that I have not announce who the chairperson and deputy chairperson are to lead this team. The board will convene at their earliest convenience and they will take the initiative to elect their chairperson and deputy chairperson,” Tweya said.
“Furthermore, it is important for me to state that this is a temporary board while the process to repeal the Estate Agents Act No. 112 of 1976, as amended by the Amendment Act No. 28 of 1987, is underway,” he added.
Tweya further said that his ministry has drafted the Namibian Property Practitioners Bill to repeal the current Estate Agents Act, the former being approved in principle by Cabinet.
“This Estate Agents Board played a role in the drafting of the Bill, hence one of their key performance indicators is to ensure the fruition of the entire process of this particular Namibian Property Practitioners Bill until the minister tables this Bill in front of Parliament for debate.”
