O&L Group best company to work for in Namibia
WINDHOEK ? The Ohlthaver & List (O&L) Group of Companies is officially the best company to work for in Namibia and the second-best in southern Africa.
The company was on Wednesday awarded a trophy for its second place in the 2011 Deloitte ?Best Company To Work For? survey in Southern Africa and a trophy for first place as the ?Best Company To Work For? in Namibia.
O&L also received a Seal of Excellence Award.
The Deloitte ?Best Company To Work For? awards? ceremony was held at a gala event in Johannesburg on Wednesday morning. Sven Thieme, Executive Chairperson of the O&L Group, presented the awards at the company?s office in the capital, immediately after returning with it from South Africa.
?Being a truly authentic Namibian company, this is an outstanding achievement, as we have retained our position from last year after increased and very stiff competition in the SADC region,? Thieme said.
He added that this shows the tremendous commitment and dedication to excellence that the company continuously strives to obtain in all its people management processes, and is testimony that it is an employer of choice in Namibia and indeed southern Africa.
?This achievement resonates very well with our Group?s purpose: ?Creating a future, enhancing life?, and our vision to be the most progressive and inspiring company,? said Thieme.
He stated that O&L was the only Namibian company that participated in the 2010 Deloitte survey, but was proud to see ten other Namibian companies participating this year, of which the Motor Vehicle Accident Fund and Hollard Insurance Namibia scooped the second and third awards in Namibia.
He encouraged more Namibian companies to participate in the survey, adding that this can create a positive work environment for Namibian employees.
When asked what O&L?s secret recipe is, Group Human Capital Director, Berthold Mukuahima confirmed that the Group meaningfully engaged with employees and addressed the issues identified by them in the survey.
Thieme and Mukuahima thanked the employees of the O&L Group of Companies for their valued contribution to the Group.
?We are looking forward to continuous working relations with the O&L Group executive team and staff, to make O&L the best company to work for,? said Thieme.
