PwC Namibia Walvis Bay office offers more than just auditing

PwC Namibia’s team in Walvis Bay wants to be sure that the service offerings which they have available meet those required by its clients and the market in general.
Ansie Rossouw - As we approach the end of a very busy year, it is customary to reflect on the year gone by, as well as plan for the new year that lies ahead.

During 2019 the leadership team of the PwC Walvis Bay office has realigned and relooked our focus areas in the market.

We want to be sure that the service offerings which we do have available meet those required by our clients and the market in general. We host an office that comprises of two resident partners, an associate director and we are assisted by about 47 people, including managers, trainees and administrative people, making up a strong group of 50 people.

Firstly, as we are traditionally known for, we are able to deliver assurance services.

Network

Being part of the PwC network ensures that we have adopted an audit methodology which forms the baseline for all PwC audits. Our methodology is based on compliance with the International Standards on Auditing (ISAs), PwC policy and guidance.

The PwC audit methodology is called PwC Audit. PwC's technology-based audit support tools, templates and content support engagement teams in conducting assurance engagements. PwC Audit is designed to be flexible and scalable for all types of engagements.

As part of our assurance service offerings, we have recently relocated our Service Delivery Centre, that specialises in the preparation of annual financial statements, for both clients and nonclients throughout Namibia, to Walvis Bay.

Tax specialists

In addition to assurance services, we have invested in a team of tax specialists. PwC’s corporate tax group has extensive experience in domestic and international tax planning and can help you structure your business to achieve tax efficiency.

The corporate tax team is able to assist with consulting (technical opinions on taxes in Namibia, tax considerations for setting up business in Namibia, optimal tax planning, reducing tax compliance risks, and tax accounting services) and compliance (calculation and submission of provisional tax returns, annual returns of income, record keeping etc).

The indirect tax team has unmatched experience in providing tax solutions to clients in key industries such as fishing, mining, retail, and local authorities.

Our indirect tax team can assist you with consulting (audit of tax risks, value-added tax refund audits, rulings and opinions, etc.), compliance (application for the extension of payment of VAT due, application for waiving of penalties, VAT balance investigation, VAT registration and de-registration etc.) and employee taxes (tax efficient structuring, tax equalisation for expatriates, individual income tax compliance, assistance with employee tax compliance, payroll and PAYE reviews, health checks etc.).

Business School

Through our Business School in Walvis Bay we provide a range of business insights and knowledge-based programmes for directors, executives and managers.

Our purpose is to build trust in society and solve important problems, through the services highlighted, which we offer to the Erongo region.
