Roadhouse Blues and Bourbon & Traffic live at the warehouse

Jacqueline Louw
Namibia’s original blues band The Roadhouse Blues will perform a concert together with instrumental fusion-rock band Bourbon & Traffic at the Warehouse Theatre on Saturday 18 June.
Roadhouse Blues combines effectively different popular blues-rock genres, such as Southern Texas Blues, Chicago Blues and contemporary British Blues-Rock. The harmonica and guitar orientated interpretations include popular songs from B.B. King, ZZ Top, Muddy Waters and John Lee Hooker. Roadhouse Blues are Robert Key (bass), Thomas Bokemuller (guitar, vocals, slide) and Hu-de San (harmonica, saxophone), Anesh Morar (drums).
Bourbon & Traffic is a local act producing a mixture of original and covered progressive jazz, funk, blues, traditional grooves and a twist of hard rock.
The band started off with Guitarist Victor Rauwerda and saxophonist Renier Viviers more than a decade ago before they were joined by bassist Robert Scott in 2012. The trio called themselves ‘RVR’ and performed a number of gigs around Windhoek, including Namrock 2012. The band’s recent lineup includes Hartmut Wenk on drums and his son Jonny on guitar, completing this talented instrumental setup.
The concert will take place at the Warehouse Theatre at 20:00 on 18 June. Tickets are N$80 and are available at the entrance.
