RöSSMUND
Last weekend the Rössmund course was quite busy during its annual Club Championships sponsored by Marsh Namibia.
Weather conditions on both days were good. The competition was well supported despite various other sporting activities taking place.
Andrew van Schalkwyk carded an excellent 71 gross to be the leader after round 1 – one shot ahead of Likius Nande (72) and followed closely by Cobus de Klerk (76) and Kevin Wentzel (78).
In the ladies division it was no holds barred for Caro Els (recently returned from the USA for a short holiday) shooting a 73 gross.
Unfortunately Andrew could not keep up the pressure on Sunday, carding a 78, whilst Likius managed to produce yet again a par round of 72 to successfully defend his title.
Karen Lohman represented Marsh at the prize-giving ceremony and thanked all the players for their support, whilst Likius thanked the sponsors and all the players for their participation.

COUNTRY CLUB
The Windhoek Golf and Country Club hosted the annual Kalahari Wire Products Hidden Partner betterball and individual stableford last Saturday.
With winter in full swing and windy conditions it was a dusty affair, making playing conditions very difficult.
Kalahari Wire Products however sponsored some magnificent prizes which made the effort worthwhile and with everyone not knowing who their eventual partner would be, it was tension to the end.
When the wind and dust settled, it was Jan van Wyk who walked away with the individual prize (40 points) ahead of Ian Wood (38), while Cor Beuke and Mike Beavis took the betterball prize. The pair’s 70 points put them ahead of George Martin and Wessel Louw (69) as well as Tertius Myburgh and Melt van Schoor (68).
OMEYA
Last weekend Omeya hosted its flagship event and once again players were spoilt by having two Proteas cricket legends in their midst.

The event was well supported with 80 players in teams of four teeing it up. Play was followed by a 5-star prize-giving, auction and live entertainment evening.
Omeya Management would like to thank its sponsors who made this day possible – Shoprite & Checkers, Pupkewitz Lexus, Elite Consulting Namibia, A. Wutow Trading, KicstartNam, KTM, Twyfelfontein Counry Lodge, Gocheganas, Distell, MacNam Cater & Bake, Telecom Namibia, Denu Stationers, Hilton Windhoek, Seapride Foods, United Ice, Ricoh, Alexander Forbes, Business Connexion, DSTC, Belvedere Boutique Hotel, XL Travel Professionals, Dujan Construction, MTC, Leojo Chemicals, Windhoek Lager, Mizuno, Callaway, Shaun Smith, Gerbie van Wyk, Old Mutual, Tamonika Events & Floral Expressions and MikelJes.
