Southern Business School donates to kindergartens
MALTAHOHE - The Southern Business School (SBS) Namibia on Friday donated chairs, crayons, books and paint sets to the value of N$10 000 to Daweb Constituency Kindergartens in the Hardap region.
Albin Jacobs, Director of SBS Namibia, said children need a good, safe environment in which they can learn.
He said having the right equipment and chairs is essential for children to flourish.
“Although SBS Namibia deals with tertiary education, we believe that an interest and love for education needs to be fostered at the very beginning. This donation ensures that children are able to develop and learn in the way they are supposed to be,” Jacobs noted.
Jacobs further said schools are always struggling to make ends meet and often only schools in Windhoek receive donations, citing this as one of the reasons why SBS Namibia was moved to donate to the Daweb Constituency.
At the same occasion, Deputy Minister of Gender Equality and Child Welfare (MGECW) Lucia Witbooi applauded the organisation for responding to the challenge of grassroots education.
“With budget constraints, these chairs, paint sets and crayons are a real boost for us and the kindergartens,” Witbooi said.
Daweb Constituency Councillor, Hercules Jantze thanked SBS Namibia for knowing how important a solid foundation in education is. “Without the proper tools of the trade, teaching becomes much harder. When I approached them, SBS Namibia did not hesitate to come on board,” Jantze said
Maltahöhe is a village in southern Namibia, located about 110 km west of Mariental in the Hardap Region.
It has about 6 000 inhabitants.
Most people in Maltahöhe are employed by lodges in and around the village.
