Steel Africa started in Windhoek in April 2001. Since then the company has expanded to branches in Walvis Bay and Tsumeb, and has grown to one of the biggest steel merchants at the coast and in northern Namibia, specialising in the mining, marine, oil and gas and construction industries.

It supplies the full complement of carbon steel, special steel, stainless steel and speciality steel products as well as related products, such as walkway systems, galvanised fibre gratings and scaffolding. Supply of value-added plate products through a South African-based company is also possible.
It stocks quality steel, with certification on mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium as well as all the Mittal and Highveld light mill sections including 300WA, 350WA, Lloyds and many more.
Steel Africa stocks a wide range of mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium welding rods and wire and is the proud sole distributor of Böhler Welding consumables in Namibia.
It is also an agent for the Vesco Plastics product range and stocks a big range of Vesconite bushes and rods, as well as hi-lube and nylon rods.
Steel Africa maintains a stock level of approximately 1 260 tonnes of steel between the three branches.
