Surround yourself with tranquility
Angi’s Self Catering and Guesthouse, nestled in the heart of Karibib, is a refreshing place where one can kick off your shoes and just relax.
The establishment, which has been under the watchful eye of Gitta Pretorius for the past nine years, started out with only three rooms and a lapa.
Another seven rooms were added in 2014.
The cozy atmosphere offered by the surrounding greenery is indeed the perfect setting in which to relax after a long day in the grueling Karibib heat.
The guesthouse restaurant offers dinner à la carte and the rooms are available on a bed and breakfast basis.
There is a swimming pool at guests’ disposal.
Angi’s is also the favourite stopover for local and international bikers clubs such as the Concrete Donkeys and the Desert Mustangs.
“For five years we hosted the Poker Run participants Desert Mustangs and it was always great fun. We also hosted bikers during the annual Ubuntu bike coded ride. Bikers from all over Africa travel together to specific towns on the occasion. We had to cater for 77 bikers and had to braai 91 steaks once. It was enormous fun and we pride ourselves on the fact that we were also part of Ubuntu,” recounts Gitta.
The six friendly staff members of the guesthouse are always willing to assist where needed and the establishment has top-notch security in the form of five dachshunds on call 24/7.
Gitta grew up and worked in the tourism industry for eight years before she decided to set up Angi’s Guesthouse. The establishment is also home to one of the oldest white jacaranda trees in the country and has a rich history behind it, dating back to before Namibia’s independence.
Make your way to Angi’s and be enthralled by the tranquil surroundings of the guesthouse and its rich history.
