Tafel Lager Braai Competition
Namibia Breweries Limited (NBL) - a subsidiary of the Ohlthaver & List (O&L) Group - on Friday, 10 March, officially launched the second annual Tafel Lager Braai Competition to be held on 8 April.
This event is also strengthened by the support of O&L subsidiary, Pick n Pay (PnP) Namibia.
Following the success of the first Tafel Lager Braai Competition, NBL Sponsorship Supervisor: Sponsorship & Events, Nico Gericke, is confident that this year's event will be even bigger and better.
Gericke said: “The Tafel Lager Braai Competition is a fun-filled family event that most Namibians can relate to. What makes it more special is the fact that it gives participants – in this case, the winning team - the opportunity to plough back into the community by enriching the lives of a selected charity organisation of their choice with their winnings.”
The winning team this year will walk away with a cash prize of N$12 500 that will be donated to a charity of their choice. Taking place at the United Sports grounds in Olympia, Windhoek, the theme for this year's braai is “Leg of lamb”.
Brand Manager: Mainstream, Samanthé Heyns, said: “The day will see Andries Vermeulen (OppieStoep) as entertainer and Master of Ceremonies (MC) at the event, as well as a special guest we keep as a surprise for now. There will also be a live rugby match and a kiddie's area, as well as local performers to keep our braaiers and the audience entertained.”
PnP Namibia Retail Marketing Manager, Gilbert Botha, at the launch of the event said the partnership between NBL and PnP speaks volumes in terms of effective collaboration.
Botha said: “This collaborative partnership between NBL and PnP is testament to the group purpose of 'Creating a future, enhancing life', as at the end of this event a charity organisation will be strengthened financially, which in turn will see the lives of those less privileged uplifted. As media partner, the support of Radio Kosmos 94.1 FM goes a long way in contributing to the success of this event. We are truly grateful.”
More information on the 2017 Tafel Lager Braai Competition, including entry application and fee details, can be obtained from the organiser of the event, Nico Jacobs, at [email protected].
Interested participants have until Monday, 27 March, to enter their teams for the challenge.
